Ptolemaic Egyptian statue of a female torso, 270–250 BC. Kunsthistorisches Muesum Vienna inv AS 5809. Diorite . H 65 cm, weight 67 kg. This figure depicts a woman in the traditional standing pose, while the style reflects the aesthetic typical of Ptolemaic times. The close-fitting dress suggests nudity. Whether the subject of the sculpture is a goddess, a royal woman, or a commoner cannot be determined in the absence of a crown or any other characteristic headgear.
