Egyptian statue sculpture of goddess Raet of Raet-Tawy 332-30 BC, Ptolemaic, from Medamoud, Louvre Museum E12923. Raet of Raet-Tawy was wife of the god Montou. Raet or Raet-Tawy is an ancient Egyptian solar deity, the female aspect of Ra. Her name is simply the female form of Ra's name; the longer name Raet-Tawy means "Raet of the Two Lands" (Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt). The Temple complex of Montu in Medamud, the ancient Medu, less than five kilometers north-east of today's Luxor. The templar complex of Medamud underwent important restorations and renovations during the New Kingdom, and in the Ptolemaic and Roman period.[ .
