Runswick Bay No 11 is a reportage photo art print by Photographer Paul E Williams. Runswick bay is a small fishing village that nestles between the cliffs and the sea at the end of a long sweeping sandy bay whose beach is covered completely at high tide. Runswick Bay has a timelessness that rejects modern neo-liberal thinking allowing families to experience a good old fashioned British beach experience, only at low tide sadly. The Bay is a real treasure..
“ I grew up in the heart of England as far as you can get from the sea in any direction. Therefore the sea has always been something I still get excited about seeing along with the billions that flock to its beaches each year to holiday. In our high tech age the seaside still holds a magical power over everyone. No virtual seaside experience has replaced it yet. The seaside is a great leveller and adults revert to their childhood and along with the kids allow themselves to do things like make sand castles or splash around in the sea. Nudity and semi nudity is the norm as everyone absorbs the sun rays and turn them cooked lobster red. Good taste goes out of the window and kitsch fills seaside gift shops with kitsch objects you only see at the seaside. By The Sea pays homage to the sunbathers but also explores the seaside out of season. I hope you enjoy.” Paul E Williams
